No. 388.-His Excellency the Governor in Council has been pleased to direct under section 7 of the Public Health and Buildings Ordinance, 1903, Ordinance No. 1 of 1903, that the name of Mr. WALTER HARGREAVES BOURSE be added to the List of Author- ized Architects published in Government Notification. No. 198 of the 11th April, 1921.

No. 392. The following Order of His Majesty in Council, which appeared in the London Gazette of the 8th May, 1925, published for general information.

The following Regulation is substituted for the Regulation made by the Governor in Council under the Emergency Regulations Ordinance, 1922, Ordinance No. 5 of 1922, late the 2nd July, 1925, published in the Gazette of Thursday, July 2nd, 1925, by Notification No. 386.
The Regulation made by the Governor in Council under the Emergency Regulations Ordinance, 1922, dated the 22nd June, 1925, published in the Gazette of Tuesday, June 23rd, 1925, by Notification No. 368 shall continue in force until and including the 7th July, 1925, but not thereafter.
N.B.-Notification No 385 repealed Notification No. 368 so far as it related to the nine banks mentioned by name in the Schedule to Notification No. 368; Notification No. 368 will cease to have effect as regards all nativo Chinese banks also, on 8th July (inclusive).

THE KING'S MOST EXCELLENT MAJESTY IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by section 8. Sub-Section 1 of the Merchant Shipping Act, 1891, it is enacted that wherever it appears to His Majesty in Council that the tonnage regulations of the said Act have been adopted by any foreign country and are in force there, His Majesty in Council may order that the ships of that country shall, without being remeasured in His Majesty's Dominions, be deemed to be of the tonnage denoted in their certificates of registry or other national papers, in the same manner, to the same extent, and for the same purposes as the tonnage denoted in the certificate of registry of a British ship is deemed to be the touuage of the ship:
And whereas it appears to His Majesty that the tonnage regulations of the said. Act have been adopted by the Government of Iceland, and are in force in that country:
Now, therefore, His Majesty is pleased, by and with the advice of His Privy Council, to order, and it is hereby ordered, as follows:---
1. This Order may be cite I as the Icelandic Tonnage Order, 1925.
2. The merchant ships of Iceland shall be deemed to be of the tonnage deuoted in such certificates of registry or other national papers, in the same manner, to the same extent, and for the same purposes as the tonuage denoted in the certificate of registry of a British ship is deemed to he the tomage of that ship.

No. 390.-His Majesty the KING has been pleased to approve the appointment of the Honourable Mr. ARCHIBALD ORR LANG to be an Unofficial Member of the Executive Council for the period during which the Honourable Sir HENRY EDWARD POLLOCK, Kt., K.C., acts as Attorney General.

No. 391.-His Excellency the Governor has been pleased to make the following promotions and appointments in the Hongkong Volunteer Defence Corps, with effect from the 2nd July, 1925 :—
Lieutenant SAMUEL JOHNSON JORDAN, M.C., to be Captain. Sergeant ALAN PRISMALL to be Second Lieutenant.
Sergeant REGINALD ROBERT DAVIES, M.C., M.M., to be Second Lieutenant.

No. 393--It is hereby notified for the information of Owners and Occupiers of tenements that, under the provisions of the Rating Ordinance, 1901, Ordinance No. 6 of 1901, Rates for the Third Quarter of 1925, are payable in advance on or before the 31st July, 1925.
If any person shall fail to pay such Rates on or before the 31st August, 1925, pro- ceedings will be taken in the Supreme Court for their recovery without further notice.
No refund of Rates in respect of vacant tenements will be granted unless such Rates have been paid during and within the month of July, 1925, nor unless application is made for such refund within fifteen days from the expiration of the Quarter.
